Palo Alto Networks Announces Several Key Partners Delivering Managed Security Services With Its Next-Generation Firewalls

Palo Alto Networks™, the network security company, has announced that BT Global Services, Dell SecureWorks, Solutionary, Symantec and Verizon are now providing managed security services for the rapidly expanding, global footprint of Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewall customers. Palo Alto Networks substantially reduces the time and effort required for the initial creation of services and integration with existing system and service management platforms.

Palo Alto Networks has fixed the problems associated with traditional firewalls by combining three identification technologies that provide visibility and control over applications, users and content. App-ID identifies exactly which applications are running on the network, as well as the associated risks, so administrators can deploy comprehensive application usage control policies for inbound and outbound traffic. User-ID integrates with enterprise directory services (e.g. Microsoft Active Directory and other LDAP directories) to link network activity to users and groups -- not just IP addresses -- for application visibility, policy creation, logging and reporting. Content-ID combines a real-time threat prevention engine with a comprehensive URL database to detect and block a wide range of threats, limit unauthorized transfer of files and data, and control non-work related Web surfing.Palo Alto Networks provides its partners with a powerful collection of tools and mechanisms that support these service providers across the full spectrum of potential offerings -- from relatively low impact monitoring and reporting to comprehensive management of an enterprise's existing network security devices and turnkey arrangements that entail full ownership and responsibility from initial deployment and provisioning onward. Specific examples of these tools and mechanisms include a powerful XML API for management purposes; custom logging capabilities; a reference implementation for a customer portal; and robust provisioning capabilities."A social media strategy will aid us in broadening our reach to every corner of the global helicopter community," Smith said.Visit Rotor & Wing's Facebook < http://www.facebook.com/rotorandwing> and Twitter pages.IHST has launched profiles on Facebook < http://www.facebook.com/pages/International-Helicopter-Safety-Team- IHST/150529738351608> and Twitter to provide a full set of virtual resources for operators, such as videos, safety reports and recommendations, news and tool kits for Safety Management Systems (SMS), training, flight data monitoring, risk assessment and maintenance.AD ECA comes in three options to best suit an organization’s needs, including two appliance-based versions, one of which includes a near-native viewer, and a software-only version that offers unlimited processing potential. All are purchased outright and include no per-use or per-gigabyte fees."Symantec Managed Security Services combine edge to endpoint visibility with unparalleled threat intelligence and analysis to keep our customers ahead of the latest threats," said Steve Parrott, director of product management, Managed Security Services at Symantec. "We anticipate that joining forces with Palo Alto Networks will help us extend this visibility and intelligence at the increasingly important application and content layer.""Palo Alto Networks has reinvented the firewall, making organizations more secure while allowing them to decrease the number of disparate solutions they are supporting in their infrastructure," said Jarrett Miller, vice president of channel sales for Solutionary. "Solutionary managed security services allow clients to fully-leverage the benefits of next-generation firewalls and reduce the cost of management. Since Solutionary and Palo Alto Networks share an extensive reseller channel, customers will be able to more easily package products and services together for a complete solution."Palo Alto Networks, "The Network Security Company," the Palo Alto Networks Logo and App-ID are trademarks of Palo Alto Networks, Inc. in the United States.
